Running Group Bonds

Any time you are trying to make a change, whether it be for work or personal, it can be challenging to keep yourself  motivated.  One of the best ways to help push through those low times is to use a buddy system.  It can be one buddy or multiple buddies, just someone else to help pick you up and keep you moving towards your goal.

A great example is the the Running Group as it acts as one big buddy system.  On the track or out on the road, having someone to pull you along helps to ease the mind.  They can share in the same experience and at the end of the session, they can share in the in the mutual accomplishment. Nothing like smiles and laughter as you relive the experience and realize – “look at what I just did!”

What’s even better is that over time, you can pay it forward by being the person to help pick someone else up whose motivation is dragging.  We are social animals, so it makes sense that we turn to others when we need that extra support boost.  Remember, everyone has those low motivation days, so don’t feel you are alone in this world.  Ask for a little help through your work or running buddy and see where the camaraderie takes you.
