Gateway Programs

Bet you didn’t know that May is National Physical Fitness and Sports Month and National Running Month.  Not to mention in the King County Metro area, May also doubles as Bike to Work Month with May 20th being the designated Bike to Work Day.   All are excellent programs to get people moving again after the long winter and prepare them for the summer ahead.    For companies looking to kick-start the exercise component of a wellness program, these campaigns are a great as they act as “Gateway Programs” or portals to a new beginning.Bike to Work Month

As we all know, exercise is not something we should do just one month out of the year.  However, for those that have let things slip over the winter and spring, this can be just thing to get them motivated again.  Scheduling events that build camaraderie and showcase exercise as being fun, will lead towards these habits continuing past the sponsored month, summer, and beyond.

Many of these national and even the local campaigns have free promotional materials to help get you started.  For more information on these programs visit the following links.
